Hi, I’m Kristen—and words are my superpower.

I’ve been writing since I could hold a pen, and throughout my entire life, I’ve always known being a writer was the only career for me.

In part, that was because I saw my mom build a professional career as a writer, and she fostered that same appreciation for clear, entertaining communication in me. She showed me that literally every company, publication, and brand needs strong writers with a unique voice.

Throughout my career, I’ve held jobs that taught me how to be versatile AND specialized. I’ve worked as a content writer for a boutique digital marketing agency, balancing SEO with storytelling. Then, as the copywriter for a well-known CPG brand, I dove deep into our industry and owned our brand’s voice across every platform. After that, I moved to aSweatLife, a health and wellness media start-up, where I became the Chief Content Officer.

From 2022 to 2024, I was the senior fitness editor at Shape, a Dotdash Meredith publication I grew up dog-earing. I started in an editorial position, then moved to commerce content, guiding our readers toward the best running shoes, dumbbells, fitness trackers, and more — everything you need for whatever type of movement you enjoy.

Today, I’m a senior commerce editor at Pillar4 Media, specializing in our partnership with Condé Nast’s legacy media brands. As a contributing editor to GQ, I’ve learned more than I ever thought possible about the brand’s legendary voice and perspective—and I’ve loved the challenge of writing for a new audience after so many years in women’s media.

Along the winding road of my career path, I’ve been able to balance freelancing and full-time work with ease, and I’ve got the accolades to prove it —in fact, I won the 2021 Freelance Excellence award from the Women in Content Marketing Awards. Above all else, I prioritize working with empowering brands that look at health and wellness holistically, rather than encouraging their audience to fall for some fad diet or TikTok trend without any real evidence backing it up.

That was a lot of words, even for me. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me. I’d love to learn more about you, too—want to get in touch?
